STUDENT OF PHYSICS
‘I like physics because it is continuously changing. Every year new discoveries are made. I also love the rewarding feeling of solving difficult calculations and getting an explainable answer. When doing physics, you are a part of an awesome community. It is great to work with people who are interested in the same unexplainable phenomena of the universe.
I am finishing my Bachelor's degree with a research project. Basically, I'm going to draw a straight line through a set of points. Might sound boring, but it's very important. For example, to discover new particles, physicists smash beams of high energy particles together, which produces new particles of which they hope one is not yet detected. To know which particle is produced, you need to first find its properties (like spin, mass, charge) and to get these, you need to find the trajectory of the particle. To find the trajectory, you need someone to write you a nice program. Which is what I'm doing, not for the Higgs Boson, but for the LHCb experiment.
Awesome to be part of this group
